Phat Joe Bids Goodbye To East Coast Radio
Radio and TV personality Phat Joe is taking things up a notch with his talent. His impressive presenting skill is indeed exposing him to a lot of great opportunities. Phat Joe has only spent a year with KZN radio station East Coast Radio and now he is leaving. Joe’s reason for leaving the station is that he has a variety of new exciting commitments that are outside KZN that he needs to focus on. He hosted a drive time show which is said to require more attention and dedication, something he doesn’t have at this point since there’s a lot he claims to be busy with.
The Take Me Out SA presenter left Metro FM last year for East Coast Radio, his talent is indeed exposing him to many greater opportunities. There was an agreement between Joe and the radio station that they will not be renewing his contract, the statements released by the station reads as “Phat Joe has contributed substantially to East Coast Radio in his Drive presenter, but his demanding schedule has put undue pressure on him.”
East Coast Radio programming manager Zane Derbyshire said that the relationship has ended sooner than they would have liked. He added that “we understand the demanding nature of his new projects. At the same time the Drive show is one of the flagship shows on the station and requires the full-time dedication of its host in Durban. We would like to wish Joe all the success with his new ventures, which he will be launching soon. He remains a friend of East Coast Radio.”
