SOS Children’s Villages is a social development organisation, focusing on the care, protection and development of children and youth who are orphaned or vulnerable. Our mission is to build families for children in need, help them to shape their own futures and share in the development of their communities.
We are in the process of recruiting a COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WORKER to be based at Mthatha Location.
THE COMMUNITY CARE WORKER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Support family-carers and zone leaders in their interaction with beneficiary families
- Support initial assessments of beneficiary families
- Support the implementation of the family development planning (FDP) process
- Monitor the provision of programme services to beneficiary families
- Programme Development support
THE CHILD AND YOUTH CARE WORKER TRAINEE WILL BE EXPECTED TO:
- Understanding of the Child and youth development principles.
- Knowledge of institutions of higher learning, FET colleges and learnership / internship systems and opportunities
- Knowledge of programmes in an NGO environment.
- CBO`s operating in similar field of work
- Knowledge of the South African legislation governing the NGO`S and their operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Qualification in Social Auxiliary Work or relevant field of study.
- Valid SA Driver`s License (Advantageous)
- A Minimum 3 years of experience in Child and Youth Care Work and an understanding of NGO operations.
- Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions as a Child & Youth Care Worker on either professional or auxiliary level.
