Shell LiveWIRE Is Offering A Programme Opportunity For Entrepreneurs
Instilling a culture of entrepreneurship among young people
Shell LiveWIRE South Africa is aimed at instilling a culture of entrepreneurship among young people by promoting business awareness through training, mentoring and assistance.
The programme offers potential entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop the necessary business planning, management and financial skills needed to start and run a business successfully.
Shell LiveWIRE South Africa is established to address the following objectives:
- To assist in addressing the country’s unemployment problem
- To support the Government’s national objectives regarding skills development
- To encourage young people to consider starting a business
- To contribute to the development of local economies
To help achieve these objectives, Shell LiveWIRE in South Africa has engaged with the following partner organisations:
- The Local Economic Development Departments of various municipalities including – Emalahleni Municipality (Mpumalanga Province); Moqhaka Municipality (Free State Province); and eThekwini Metro (KwaZulu-Natal Province)
- Etelang Pele Community Development Services in Sebokeng, south of Johannesburg
- South African HIV and Aids Collaboration (SAHAC) – in Soweto, south of Johannesburg. This is an organisation supporting people living with Aids by encouraging economic development
- Mamelodi/Eersterust Matric Entrepreneurs Initiative
Shell LiveWIRE in South Africa is strengthening existing economic development initiatives within local authorities and augments the development work of other organisations with a youth focus.
