Jillian Mercado – a 26-year-old New Yorker who suffers from muscular dystroph. She might not be your typical catwalk model, but she really is a stunning personality with lots of bravery in her heart. Mercado suffers from spastic muscular dystrophy and uses a wheelchair to navigate. But that didn’t stop her from graduating from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, interning at magazines like Allure, working with Diesel and becoming the Executive Editorial Director for WeTheUrban.
7. Connie Chiu
Connie Chiu (born 1969) was the world’s first albinistic fashion model. Chiu was born in British Hong Kong to a Chinese family. Like many people with albinism, she has to protect her photosensitive eyes and skin from the sunlight. As a result, her family moved to Sweden when she was seven.

Melanie is definitely not your typical model, however, she has found the strength and confidence to be one even when the world is judging. Viktoria Modesta Moskaloya is a Latvian-born singer/songwriter and model. Due to a hospital accident at birth she had problems with her left leg and at the age of 19 decided to have it amputated.
