“Jay Z used me”- Says Artist
Just recently, a Serbian superstar by the name of Marina Abramović spoke about how she was “used” by Jay Z. Marina collaborated with rapper Jay Z for his 2013 video for Picasso Baby and she describes the experience as what was ‘cruel’ and something she never wants to repeat.
Marina said that she didn’t regret the decision to work with the rapper but she said the experience would make her think again about similar projects in the future.
“The day before, he came to my office and I gave him an entire PowerPoint presentation and said: OK, you can help me, because I really need help to build this thing,”. “Then he just completely used me. And that wasn’t fair”, she said.
“In the end it was only a one-way transaction. I will never do it again, that I can say. Never”, said the disappointed artist.
So, we are far from clueless with all the drama surrounding artist ‘A’ receiving unfair treatment from artist ‘B’ and all the she bang-bang behind it all . Well, this is not something out of the ordinary in the music industry. What do we know? – It is a jungle out there.
