Johannesburg, Wednesday, 6 May 2015 – Multiple award-winning South African musician, Zahara, releases new single called Limbisa featuring TRESOR Riziki and produced by legendary Robbie Malinga and Mjalefa ‘Mjakes” Thebe. The single is taken off Zahara’s 3 times certified platinum second album, PHENDULA.

The decision to release Limbisa now was a unanimous decision between Zahara and the featured artist and producers to send a message of African unity in our country.

Limbisa is a redemption song about accepting each other despite our imperfections and differences. It’s about seeing beauty in human imperfection and choosing to co-exist and walk our path together. The word Limbisa originates from Congo and simply means “forgive” in the Congolese dialect, Lingala. This heartwarming song has always been a crowd favourite and sees Zahara sing in Swahili.

With the current air of hostility amongst Africans, the song echoes the need for the stance for #AfricaUnite and #WeAreOne.

“We’ve always hated Xenophobia so we wanted to create a song about unity. TRESOR might be from DRC but he’s a brother to me. Limbasa is an amazing song with a beautiful melody. We are very sad about the recent attacks on our brothers and sisters. When we worked on the song, we wanted to work together to show African love and unity and that we are one. Zahara singing in Swahili was perfectly placed with the idea to expand her brand and Zahara’s music continentally. The main goal of the song is to show a unified Africa. #WeAreOne” expresses Robbie Malinga.

Limbisa has officially been sampled to radio stations across the country and will start receiving air play this week. The music video will be shot at the SABC in the next 3 weeks with a celebrity filled cast to highlight unity in Africa by South African musicians, actors, poets, artists and the likes.
