“South Africans Should Stop Being Lazy!”, – Somizi Speaks Against Xenophobia
By now, we have all read about or experienced xenophobic attacks somehow first hand and it doesn’t look good at all. While many South Africans justify xenophobia, Somizi is one of the celebrities who took a different stance urging South Africans to stop blaming foreigners and stop being lazy.
He posted a video on instagram sharing his views about the. In the begging of the video he states that , “Xenophobia is disgusting”. He captioned the video with these words, “I challenge everyone to take a stand. Let yo voice be heard against xenophobic attacks”.
Xenophobia has just been accepted as a rite of passage, until now. Recently, more and more celebrities have been backing anti-xenophibic attacks campaigns and lending their voices to an important cause.
Recognizing that this has to stop, action is being taken across the social media sphere. This month saw celebrities including Dj Sbu, Boity, AKA, and Lerato Kganyago take part in various anti-xenophobia attack campaigns
Dj Sbu has been seen during the past on twitter campaigning against xenophobic attacks also making his twitter name iSayNoToXenophobia.
