Types Of Smartphones Which Are Compatible With The WhatsApp Calling Feature
WhatsApp Calling is the new invitation only feature of WhatsApp that adds free phone call capabilities to the app that was previously only capable of messaging.
To be able to use it you need to be using one of these phones, Windows Phone, Android, iOS or Blackberry. Your WhatsApp has to be the latest version that you can get from Google Play Store or directly from the official WhatsApp website.
The receiver of the call also has to have a compatible phone and the WhatsApp feature unlocked. If the user being called up doesn’t have the latest version installed, the caller will get notified to request the receiver to update the app before the call is made.
Three tabs are displayed are displayed which are labelled as calls, chats and contacts. The call button for contacts now leads by default to a WhatsApp call as opposed to a smartphone call in the past.
The call feature has been integrated well into WhatsApp, with the tab for WhatsApp Calling showing all incoming, outgoing and missed calls with their exact times. Calls that are ongoing are in the apps’ notifications that can later be checked by the user. While in a call, users can choose to mute their microphones or turn on the louder-speaker.
