See How Much Trevor Noah Could Be Earning As The New Presenter Of ‘The Daily Show’
It’s a great day to be proud to be a South African as Trevor Noah has been chosen to take over the Daily Show from American comedian Jon Stewart. The Daily Show is an American late night talk show that has been airing since 1999. The show is an authoritative comedy on current events.
Trevor Noah might have made a great impression as this comes after he appeared on the show as a contributor only three times last year. Noah has come highly recommended by the current host Jon Stewart who will be leaving the show in September.
Apparently, Jon Stewart was said to be the highest paid Television Host. TV Guide reported that, Jon Stewart is taking home between $25 and $30 million (R365 Million) a year, topping broadcast network competitors Jay Leno and David Letterman.
Trevor Noah gave a statement on the news form Dubai where he’s on his comedy tour, in which he said this was a great opportunity and a significant challenge. “You don’t believe it for the first few hours, you need a stiff drink, and then unfortunately you’re in a place where you can’t really get alcohol” Trevor said.
Although he’s a newcomer to American television, for someone who is filling in the shoes of someone who earned that much money, Trevor should be earning at least a third of the amount. Trevor’s appointment promises to bring a youthful and international perspective to the show. Comedy Central President said they found Trevor Noah fitting for the job after looking at all the contenders.
I’m thrilled for the show and for Trevor”, said Jon Stewart in a statement. He continued to say Trevor is a tremendous comic and talent that he loved working with.
Congratulations to Trevor Noah on this huge achievement. We’re sure he’ll do the job justice and raise the South African flag high.
