Top 10 Tips on How to Enjoy Your Weekends
Oh man there’s nothing like the smell of weekend drawing closer and closer; you just want to throw everything away and kick it up or spent quality time with your family and friends. But sometimes instead of enjoying your time off work or school most people find themselves busier than they are during the week. So how do you avoid a blunt weekend? Here are some tips to help you enjoy your weekends and feel renewed for the new week.
1. Make plans
Before the weekends start, make plans on how you want to spend your weekend. You should know before it starts so that if requires you do to do some preparations you have time to that and it helps you avoid doing the alternative which can be boring.
2. Meet up with your friends
It’s always a good time with friends; you want to avoid your work friends because all the conversations will end up in work stuff. Make plans with your friends, go watch a movie or go balling anything to help you unwind and have a good laugh.
3. Get outdoors
If you go to the gym, try an outside workout during weekends, go for a hike and enjoy nature even if exercise is not for you, take a morning walk before the sun is up or in the afternoon when it’s setting. You will feel refreshed and new.
4. Get some “you” time
During the week its study groups, lectures, meetings and a lot of interaction, and some people are just running around and before you know the weekend is over and you’re tired. Use some of your weekend time to be with yourself. Read a book, catch up on your favorite series or listen to your favorite music.
5. Allow catch up time
Although weekends should be all relaxing and no work, at least we think so. It’s also a great time to fix those things you’ve been putting aside like fixing the cupboard door, some thorough cleaning; anything in your house that’s been bothering you. Doing this will actually make you feel better afterwards; you’ll feel like you have everything under control and in order.
6. Avoid routine
Most of the time people do the same things every single weekend. They have a routine and this can be boring, it will feel like work so try by all means to at least mix it if it’s things you have to do. It’s not about what you normally do on Saturday or Sunday, find something different to do, get a new experience.
7. Find a new hobby
Find a new club to join or anything you haven’t6 done before. You will meet new people and it’s always better if it’s outside because it breaks up a dull routine and gets you something to look forward to.
8. Put some things off
There are things that we normally think are” weekend jobs”, you can create some more relaxing time if you try and schedule those things during the week. You can do a little of the work you need done every night and by the time the weekend comes you’ll be free and have time to spare.
9. Avoid watching tv all day
Watching tv the whole weekend can actually be tiring, you won’t feel refreshed, yes you can catch up on your favorite series but avoid a dull weekend and enjoy the outdoors too. There’s nothing worse than feeling unprepared entering into the new week, it can ruin your mood for the whole week.
10. Play/Just be
Remember when you were young and you didn’t have plans? Maybe it’s not a bad thing to just let go and just be free. It’s ok to ignore some small stuff and have fun. Just enjoy yourself and live!
