Introduction
The Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism is looking for 13 Field Rangers to work at the following State Owned Nature Reserves (REF NO: C4/14/16):
• Blouberg Nature Reserve
• D’Nyala Nature Reserve
• Langjan Nature Reserve
• Man’ombe Nature Reserve
• Masebe Nature Reserve
• Ndzhelele Nature Reserve
• Nwanedi Nature Reserve (2 posts)
• Percy Fyfe Nature Reserve
• Stellenbosch Nature Reserve (2 posts)
• Tshakuma Nature Reserve
Salary: R103 494 per annum

Requirements
• Grade 12 certificate with no experience required.

Duties
• Assist with the protection of the reserve and its natural environment resources which will include the following: nature conservation patrols; inspect and repair boundary fence; warn visitors on unauthorized actions within the reserves and report non-compliance;
• Assist with fire management services which would include the following: execute fire burning programme; maintain the fire belts along the fences and facilities; conduct bloc burn; assist with access control.
• Assist with monitoring of ecological processes, habitats and biodiversity in nature reserves which will include the following: gather biological and ecological data; report on areas for rehabilitation; monitor rehabilitation areas.
• Assist with the monitoring and control of recreational facilities which will include the following: control and monitoring of recreational activities; maintenance of recreational areas.
