Editorial Intern Wanted
The position is based in Cape Town, with the appointee reporting to the copy editor.A proactive, self-motivated, hard-working team player with a keen interest in food and writing will enjoy this challenge.
Responsibilities include:
- Data capturing
- Fact Checking
- Assisting with editorial research
- Picture editing
- Basic copy writing and proofreading
- General administrative and editorial tasks
Candidate Requirements
The successful applicant:
- Is an English graduate with a qualification in media, communications or journalism;
- Is computer literate – Internet, email and Microsoft Office. InDesign would be an advantage;
- Can handle general administrative skills;
- Pays attention to detail;
- Has an exceptional telephone manner;
- Is resourceful;
- Is able to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines;
- Is able to work across several products, print and digital;
- Is willing to work overtime when required;
- Has the ability to work well in a team, and to function independently;
- Is flexible; and
- Has excellent communication skills.
