The U.S. Embassy in Pretoria is seeking individuals for the position of Chauffeur/Driver in the Marine Security Guard (MSG). Applicants must have a minimum requirement of matric and 2 years experience. Additional info available @ YOUTH VILLAGE.

Items 1- 5 are ALL REQUIRED
1. Education*:
– Completion of secondary school (grade12) is required.
2. Experience:
– A minimum of two years of experience as a professional chauffeur or driver is required.
3. Language:
– English level III (good working knowledge) reading/writing/speaking is required.
4. Knowledge:
– Familiarity with South African road and driving regulations and restrictions is required.
– Familiarity with city layout of Pretoria and Johannesburg and their suburbs, and knowledge of SA government and other important buildings is
required.
– Must know how to read maps and plots route to unknown location.
5. Skills and Abilities:
– Ability to operate sedans, passenger vans, and small trucks with safety and expertise, both standard and automatic transmissions is required.
– Ability to work as a member of a group chauffeurs cooperating with each other and their supervisor for the safe and timely performance of all
duties is required.
– Must have a valid driver’s license code 10 (C1), with valid PDP (Professional Drivers Permit) endorsed on driver’s license. |
Job Specification
| Basic Function of Position:
The incumbent operates motor vehicle to transport passengers, documents and parcels required. The incumbent works different shifts on a rotating basis to provide adequate availability of drivers to meet the Marine Security Guard office’s needs. Position is also expected to work both American and South African holidays in rotation.
