GALXBOY Recognized With A Major Fashion Award. From humble beginnings, to now bagging industry awards. Congratulations are n order to GALXBOY, a brand that is making massive ways in the local fashion industry and beyond. The fashion brand has been recognized as the Best Streetwear Brand in South Africa for 2026, at the South Africa Fashion Awards.
GALXBOY is the brain child of fashion entrepreneur, Thatiso Dube. He began his journey back in 2008, with a simple slogan, on a T-Shirt, and now his brand, is one of the biggest, with a number of stores across the country.
In the beginning, Thatiso, also known as Vuittots started small, selling t-shirts from the boot of his car. By 2014, GalXBoy opened its first physical store in Hatfield, Pretoria, marking a significant milestone for the brand. That same year, the brand reached a remarkable achievement by making their first million in sales. It felt like a dream come true for Thatiso and his team.
Just like many other businesses GalXBoy faced some challenges. There was a time when the store even had to close down. Thatiso used the setback to earn more about entrepreneurship, and fashion. He also worked with other successful brands to gain more experience. In no time he was back, bigger and better. Thatiso’s hard work paid off big time. GalXBoy, has now grown to be a brand that not just sell clothes but also resonate with the young people of South Africa. Thatiso is here celebrating yet another win. His brand won big, at the South Africa Fashion Awards.

The 2nd Annual South Africa Fashion Awards,were held this past Saturday, 3 October 2026 at Hotel Sky, Sandton, Johannesburg. The awards are all about celebrating South African fashion on a global stage, in partnership with the World Fashion Awards.
