HSE Administrator Opportunity at Cape Herb & Spice Cape Town

Cape Herb & Spice, part of Libstar, is inviting applications for an HSE Administrator position based in Maitland, Cape Town. This is a permanent, entry-level opportunity for a highly organised, detail-oriented and proactive individual who can support the administration and reporting of Health, Safety and Environmental activities across the business. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining accurate HSE and ESG information, supporting compliance activities and ensuring that relevant records and reports are kept up to date. The position reports to the HSE Manager and will work closely with teams across multiple Cape Herb & Spice facilities. Applicants should note that the role will move to Montague Park in May 2027.

The HSE Administrator will support a range of administrative activities linked to workplace health and safety, environmental management and compliance. This includes maintaining HSE and ESG data covering areas such as waste, water, energy and emissions, while ensuring that information can be accurately retrieved and reported when required. The position also involves maintaining internal databases, preparing reports and keeping compliance documentation organised across multiple sites. Because the role supports activities with regulatory and customer requirements, accuracy and attention to detail will be essential. Candidates should also be comfortable working independently, managing several priorities and building positive relationships across different departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain HSE and ESG data, including information relating to waste, water, energy and emissions.
  • Maintain internal HSE databases and ensure relevant information is accurately captured and updated.
  • Support external customer and regulatory submissions by providing accurate and timely information.
  • Prepare accurate HSE and ESG reports within required deadlines.
  • Maintain HSE files, records, inspection documentation and compliance records.
  • Coordinate PPE records and ensure relevant information remains current and accessible.
  • Coordinate HSE meetings, prepare or maintain minutes and support the HSE compliance schedule.
  • Assist with legally required inspections, training activities and related documentation.
  • Assist with the administration and record-keeping associated with COID claims.
  • Support the HSE team with general administration and compliance activities across multiple facilities.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate documentation required for HSE and environmental processes.
  • Support the team in ensuring HSE-related administrative requirements are completed consistently and on time.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within HSE administration and reporting processes.

Requirements and Skills

  • Good Microsoft Office and computer skills are required.
