Arthur Mafokate Share Funeral and Memorial Service Details of His Fathers Enos. A week ago, Arthur Mafokate broke the sad news of his father Enos Mafokate’s passing.The Kwaito legend and businessman is back with another update, this time around regarding funeral and memorial arrangements of his late father.

It has been confirmed that Kgosiya Dipere as Enos was fondly called, will be laid to rest today, Thursday the 10th of September. The funeral service is taking place at The Plot Studios, address 35Lyncon Road, Carlswald Holdings starting for 09:00. His loved ones will hold a memorial service to honor him on Friday 11th September. The venue is Enos Mafokate Equestrian Center in Soweto from 14:00.

Enos made a name for himself as South Africa’s first Black show jumper who went on to found the Soweto Equestrian Centre to teach the children of Soweto how to care for and ride horses.

Early Life

Enos spent his early years in life working on a farm in the country side. He worked as a groom for the horses and that is where he found his love for the animal. While working on the farm he was offered the chance to learn how to ride. In 1975 he enrolled at the Marist Brothers College to perfect his showjumping skills. In 1992 he attended the Olympics as a sports ambassador for South African show jumping. Mafokate was South Africa’s first black international riding champion and used that influence to start the Soweto Equestrian Foundation.
