“Kwa Baba has challenged me in ways I didn’t expect. 2026 has been a difficult year, but when I look back, I can genuinely see the growth in my craft, and that alone makes me proud. The difficult part is the sacrifice, spending less time with family, missing moments, and sometimes having to choose the work over the people you love. But I love what I do. I love acting because, for a moment, I get to escape reality and live through someone else’s story.
It’s been a very tough week, and receiving this award reminded me of why I do this. To know that the work is being seen, felt and appreciated means more than I can explain.
