“What A Journey It Has Been,” Bhule Moletsane On Returning Back to Acting. Back in April Buhle Moletsane returned to acting with new acting role in the new e.tv show, Emzini. There she plays Lerato, a character she describes as layered, real, and an individual that carries so much more than meets the eye.
“Six months ago, I took a leap of faith and returned to the one thing that has always called me back…acting.
What a journey it has been. ❤️
Bringing Lerato to life has been one of the most rewarding and, at times, heartbreaking experiences. There are days when I read the scripts and I want to shake her. 😭 There are moments where my heart genuinely breaks for her, and then I have to remind myself, “Buhle… that’s Lerato, not you.”
From the very beginning, I said there would be no middle ground. You’d either love her or hate her. Judging by the conversations online… I wasn’t wrong.
But to everyone who’s been rocking with me, supporting my work, engaging with the story, and showing me love beyond the character…thank you. I don’t take a single comment, message, or kind word for granted.
Watching so many of you unpack these characters, debate their choices, and even see pieces of your own stories in them reminds me why I fell in love with storytelling in the first place.
The first six months of this year have been nothing short of beautiful, and if they’ve taught me anything, it’s that betting on yourself is always worth it.
