Applications Open for the CivInnovate Engineering Apprenticeship Programme 2026. CivInnovate is inviting unemployed young people interested in engineering and technology to apply for its 18-month apprenticeship and workplace training programme.
About the CivInnovate Engineering Apprenticeship Programme
The programme is intended for applicants with Grade 12, technical engineering qualifications or completed theoretical studies requiring practical in-service training. Apprenticeship Locations: Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Western Cape, Northern Cape and Limpopo, South Africa. Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of R8 000 during the programme.
Engineering Fields Covered
Applications are invited from candidates interested in the following engineering fields:
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
Applicants should ensure that their CV clearly states the engineering field for which they are applying.
Apprenticeship Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12; or
- An N2 qualification; or
- An N3 qualification.
In-Service Training Requirements
- N4 certificate
- N5 certificate
- N6 certificate
- S4 certificate
The qualification must be related to one of the advertised engineering disciplines.
Applicants should indicate whether they require workplace exposure to complete their qualification.
Who Should Apply?
- Unemployed Grade 12 graduates interested in engineering.
- Applicants with N2 or N3 engineering qualifications.
- TVET College students who completed N4 to N6.
- University of Technology students who completed S4.
