Lamiez Holworthy Embraces Weight Gain As She Addresses Online Critics. She recently went through a major health scare, which landed her in hospital. Sadly instead of her recovering peacefully, Lamiez Holworthy has to deal with body shammers and haters in general.

This past Sunday, the DJ and media personality was rushed to hospital on an emergency surgical procedure. Her management assures fans that Lamiez’s condition was not life threatening. She is now back home,where she is being taken care of loved ones.

The past few days have been scary and painful beyond words but God showed up for me in ways that I cannot fathom nor explain.

I nearly died. I nearly lost my life and probably would’ve if I wasn’t rushed to th hospital on Sunday. All this 7 minutes away from the next venue and 6 more gigs left.

The biggest lesson that I learnt? To listen to

My body and that there is no honour in working yourself

To death. What good would all that hard work be if I were dead?!

But also, that I am Human and not a robot.

My husband, parents, siblings ,my children and all my loved one deserve a happier and healthier version of Me.

I’m back home and overcame the worst, my body fought hard-l fought hard.

l’ll be taking time off to heal and reconnect,” Lamiez said.

While she was going through the most, there was a picture making rounds on social media. Some commented on her weight gain, and there were even rumors of a BBL.Well Lamiez is not bothered by all of that, in fact, she is embracing how she looks.

“This very picture was used to try and body shame me and the jokes on that person because I DELIBERATELY said to my audience in Bloem that I wore that dress for a reason- to prove to them that I am normal-with cellulite and stretchmarks,that women in all shapes and sizes should embrace their bodies in whatever form.

“I gained weight and wasn’t going to try and hide it,” Lamiez said.
