Qualified Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant Opportunity at Clicks Smith Street

Clicks Group is recruiting a Qualified Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant for its Smith Street store in Durban. This permanent opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about pharmaceutical care, customer service and supporting the daily operations of a busy dispensary.

As part of the Clicks pharmacy team, you will help deliver professional pharmaceutical care within your scope of practice while ensuring efficient dispensary administration and compliance with company procedures. You will work closely with pharmacists to provide quality healthcare services, maintain accurate records and ensure customers receive safe and effective medication support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high standards of pharmaceutical customer service and patient care.
• Support the day-to-day administration of the dispensary.
• Assist with accurate compounding of medication within your scope of practice.
• Repack medicines according to company procedures and legal requirements.
• Maintain effective stock control and inventory management.
• Provide general health advice and product guidance to customers.
• Ensure dispensary housekeeping meets company standards.
• Maintain attractive and organised merchandise displays.
• Follow Clicks Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times.
• Support operational requirements and complete additional duties when required.
• Maintain accurate documentation and pharmacy records.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and company policies.

Requirements and Skills

• Matric with Mathematics (Essential).
• Meet the minimum requirements of the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) for Pharmacist Assistants at the applicable level.
• Strong knowledge of over-the-counter (OTC) and health aisle products.
• Understanding of SAPC regulations and relevant pharmaceutical legislation.
• Customer-focused with excellent service skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• High levels of integrity and ethical conduct.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good numerical and basic calculation skills.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and business operating systems.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to follow procedures and work according to established standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.

This permanent position requires employees to work 45 hours over six days per week.
