Gugu Gumede Shines As the Cover Star of A Leading Magazine. This is definitely her season, and everyone is celebrating with her. Gugu Gumede showed the world what she is made of after her impeccable delivery as Joyce Gomora in the Netflix hit show The Polygamist. Since then, she continues to do interviews, attends major events and enjoy every perk that has come with The Polygamist.
On yet another win, the talented actress has been unveiled as True Love Magazine’s July-September 2026 cover star. A lot is already known about Gugu, as she has been in the industry for years. In the issue though, more is unveiled about her personal life and career.

Gugu is best known for her role as MaMlambo on the SABC1 soapie Uzalo. Initially recurring, from the first season, she was promoted to starring cast in 2018 for the start of Season 4. Gugu continued to star in the role until Season 11, after which she returned to guest star on Season 12, in 2026.
Her first role in television, however, is playing Mandisa in the SABC1 soapie Generations. Gugu has also been cast as MaGumede in the Mzansi Magic anthology drama series eHostela in 2019. In the same year she played a guest role as a Board Member on an episode of the Mzansi Magic soapie Isithembiso.
Gugu landed another starring role, this time as Connie in the e.tv telenovela Isiphetho: Destiny, from April 2024 to April 2025. She also had a role in the Netflix film Umjolo: The Gone Girl, in 2024.
In 2026, she landed the starring role of Joyce in The Polygamist. She was the picture of marital perfection until her cheating husband’s conquests ignite a scandalous emotional meltdown. A couple of weeks back she debuted in the e.tv soapie eGagasini: Waves of Change as Phumelela Dube.
