“Thank You All for the Love,” Nonhle Thema On Her Recent Explosive Radio Interview. Nonhle Thema recently had a sit-down interview on Thando Thabethe’s radio show on 947. The former “O-Access” and “V-Entertainment” star opened up about her career, her influence in the industry and her family among other things.
Nonhle had social media buzzing after her claims that she single-handedly introduced Twitter (now X) to South Africans. She said she brought the social media platform to our shores after experiencing it in the United States of America. After opening an account, local fans joined in massive numbers just to follow her. Nonhle also shared that her family was one of the first Black families to settle in the upscale Johannesburg suburb of Bryanston in 1990.
This caused a huge debate on social media with some agreeing with the media personality, and others challenging her claims. About the Twitter issue, some users shared that the platform already had an active local user base before her peak. Others however believe that Nonhle was the original blueprint for local celebrity social media culture. They feel she definitely deserve her flowers.
