Job Overview

The Health Merchandiser will be responsible for maintaining high merchandising standards throughout the health department while ensuring products are displayed correctly and readily available for customers. You will assist with stock management, product rotation, merchandising displays and customer enquiries while supporting the daily operations of the new store. This role requires attention to detail, physical fitness and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Successful candidates will contribute to creating an organised, attractive and customer-friendly shopping environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Restock merchandise according to business requirements.
• Ensure products are stored correctly after delivery.
• Keep shelves fully stocked at all times.
• Rotate stock using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method.
• Assist with stocktaking activities.
• Ensure shelves are neat, well presented and correctly labelled.
• Build, replenish and maintain merchandising displays.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of merchandise displays.
• Manage designated stock in the storeroom and on the shop floor.
• Assist with back shopping and stock replenishment.
• Resolve customer stock enquiries professionally.
• Support daily store merchandising and housekeeping standards.

Requirements and Skills

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Up to six months of retail experience.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Strong command of the English language.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Trustworthy, honest and reliable.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy boxes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.

Advantageous Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in a Health-related field.
• At least one year of retail experience.
• Bilingual communication skills.
• Knowledge of merchandising standards and the FMCG industry.
• Product and category knowledge.
• Experience analysing ZMORE reports for ordering and stocktaking.
• Knowledge of SAP and Unisolv systems.
• Ability to identify and report suspicious behaviour involving customers or staff.
