Kabelo Mabalane Returns to Music After Over A Decade Break. He burst into the scene as part of the kwaito trio TKZee. On the side Kabelo Mabalane also had a successful career as a solo artist. How exciting is it for his fans, that he is back in the entertainment space doing music.
Kabelo has done very well as an artists, releasing his debut studio album Everybody Watching in 2000. The album included the hit singles “Pantsula For Life” and “Amasheleni”. It went platinum within weeks of its release, selling 100 000 copies. He soon made a followed up release with his second studio album titled Rebel With A Cause which included the hit singles “It’s My House” and “Ayeye”. The album proved to be another huge success, reaching double platinum status, selling 130 000 copies. He followed up with his third studio album And the Beat Goes On, selling 150 000 copies triple platinum with the hit singles Zonke, Reverse Yomhlaba & Zibuzwala Kimi.
Along with his TKZEE bandmates (Tokollo ‘Magesh’ Tshabalala and Zwai Bala), Kabelo performed at 2010 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony. Kabelo also won awards, including the South African Music Award in 2003 for Rebel with a Cause. He then won the 2004 Kora Award for Best Southern Africa Male Artist.
Now Kabelo is back, and working on new music. His fans can’t wait for his new offering, and how he will fit in, as music has evolved.
