Youth Employment Service (YES) Opportunity at Eskom Medupi Power Station

Eskom Medupi Power Station is inviting unemployed young South Africans to apply for its Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme in Lephalale, Limpopo. The Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative is a national public private partnership led by the Presidency to help address youth unemployment. Through this programme, Eskom provides qualifying candidates with meaningful workplace exposure, helping them build experience in a professional environment while contributing to one of South Africa’s largest electricity providers.

About the YES Programme

The Eskom YES Programme is designed to provide unemployed youth with their first meaningful work experience. Successful candidates will be employed on a 12 month contract and placed in administrative roles within Eskom operations. During the programme, participants will gain practical workplace knowledge, improve their professional skills and learn how one of South Africa’s leading state owned enterprises operates.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen.
• Be between the ages of 18 and 34 years.
• Have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Be unemployed at the time of application.
• Not be studying full time during the period of employment.
• Not have been permanently employed by a single employer for longer than one continuous year.
• Not have previously participated in or registered for the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme.

Successful applicants will complete Eskom’s recruitment process before being placed within Eskom operations.
