Mbuyiseni Ndlozi Showers Former President Thabo Mbeki With A Shout Out As He Turns 84. We have witnessed the bond between the two gentlemen grow stronger over the past few years. Today, Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi got the opportunity to honor their friendship in a heartfelt birthday shout out to former president, Thabo Mbeki.
Although Ndlozi and Mbeki were on different political parties, they have always had mutual respect for each other. A couple of years back, when he was still with the Economic Freedom Fighter, Ndlozi praised Mbeki’s stance on African unity. While he was still at POWER FM, he did an interview with the former president. Now the former EFF Member of Parliament serves as a Senior Fellow at the Thabo Mbeki Foundation and hosts the Foundation’s African Renaissance Podcast. He assumed the role in October 2025.
To mark Mbeki’s 84th birthday, Ndlozi took to social media with pictures of the former leader having a relaxed time with loved ones. On the caption he wished him a happy birthday, referring to him as Mkhulu (grandfather).
“Happy Birthday Mkhulu ❤️,” Ndlozi said.
