Ster-Kinekor Theatres Pty Ltd is hiring a Multi Skilled Employee for its Irene cinema in Centurion, Gauteng. This fixed term contract role is part of the cinema operations team and supports multiple front-of-house and back-of-house functions. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced entertainment environment and delivering excellent customer service. You will rotate between cashier duties, food and beverage preparation, cinema assistance, and general operational support to ensure smooth daily cinema operations.

Job Overview

The Multi Skilled Employee role focuses on delivering a seamless cinema experience for guests through efficient service across multiple operational areas. You will work at the box office, confectionery counter, and cinema floor while also assisting with food preparation and general customer service duties. The role requires strong attention to presentation standards, product quality, and customer interaction. You will ensure that cinema operations run smoothly while maintaining Ster-Kinekor brand standards at all times. Flexibility, teamwork, and reliability are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Work across multiple cinema functions including cashier, waiter, and cinema assistant roles
• Operate box office and catering sales points efficiently
• Prepare popcorn, slush, and other food items according to quality standards
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, counters, and public areas
• Ensure product displays, posters, and promotional materials are correctly presented
• Support shift preparation and operational readiness across departments
• Uphold health and safety standards in all work areas
• Maintain proper storage and handling of food and cinema products
• Provide friendly and professional customer service at all times
• Upsell products and promote cinema offerings and promotions
• Report any deviations in product quality or operational issues
• Follow uniform, grooming, and presentation standards strictly
• Assist supervisors with general operational tasks as required

Requirements And Skills

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• 0 to 1 year experience in retail, hospitality, or cinema environment advantageous
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office)
• Experience with POS systems such as VISTA or MYCC is an advantage
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good organisational and administrative ability
• Strong attention to detail and presentation standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced customer-facing environment
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain procedures
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• High level of professionalism and personal presentation
