Carol Bouwer Warns Against Criminals Using Her Identity to Scam Her WhatsApp Contacts. With the whole Artificial Intelligence tools gaining popularity, there are a lot of security breaches on social media platforms. Carol Bouwer is the latest victim of that, after her WhatsApp got hacked.
According to the businesswoman, the scammers are pretending to be her and asking asking money from her contacts. They claim Bouwer is stuck at different airports among them Amsterdam, Malasyia and Cape Town. As they pretend to be her, they say she is in need of being rescued ASAP. What bothers her even more, is that these people are aware of who she is, and some of her daily activities, so it’s easy fro them to impersonate her.
Bouwer has thus asked her contacts, or anyone who has received messages from this people to report the number.
“Please block and report 0762927812 ( I am advised by my mobile service provider that this is not an issue they can resolve but a WhatsApp issue as that is the medium being used by the scammers so I hope @meta and/or @facebook can assist),” she warned her contacts.
