Applications Open for the Joburg City Theatres Youth Development Internship Programme. An internship programme is an intervention by Joburg City Theatres to address the growing demand by a tertiary institution for students to undergo on-the-job exposure, as a pre-requisite to acquire an academic qualification or as a requirement after the acquisition of academic qualification to obtain experiential training. Joburg City Theatres is committed to provide students/graduates an opportunity to intern at Joburg City Theatres
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / NQF level 4
- Diploma in Performing Arts / Dramatic Arts / equivalent.
- Computer literacy – MS Office Applications and email.
Key Learning Areas/ Responsibilities.
- Assist in the planning, coordination and implementation of youth empowerment and development programmes.
- Support initiatives aimed at skills development, employability, leadership, and personal growth of young people.
- Gain exposure to theatre-based youth programmes, workshops, and outreach activities.
- Support youth-focused arts education projects, including theatre productions, training workshops, and creative learning initiatives.
- Assist with community engagement programmes targeting schools, youth groups, and community organizations.
- Learn how arts and culture are used as tools for social cohesion and youth development.
- Assist with communication and coordination between the department, youth participants, facilitators, and partner organizations.
- Support participant recruitment, registration, and attendance tracking.
- Develop skills in professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling, record-keeping, data capturing and filing.
- Support with logistics for rehearsals, workshops, performances, and youth events.
- Gain practical experience in programme coordination within a public arts institution.
- Assist with the collection of data, feedback, and attendance records for youth programmes.
- Support the preparation of reports, summaries, and evaluations on programme outcomes.
- Learn basic monitoring and evaluation practices within youth development initiatives.
- Design and create social media posts
