Nambitha Ben-Mazwi Shines As lead In An Iconic International Crime Series. Over time we have seen international actors back lead roles in movies about South Africa’s well known figures. Recently many got to know of American superstar Cynthia Erivo being cast as Miriam Makeba. The role is for an upcoming musical drama called, The Road Home.
Having noted that, we also have our own personal stars who are getting booked on international roles. One can think of Charlize Theron and Thuso Mbedu, who are shinning in Hollywood. There is also Nambitha Ben-Mazwi, who is not new to the international scene.The Port Elizabeth-born starlet studied business science and worked in the corporate world as a strategist. In 2012, she quit her corporate job to pursue her acting dream in New York. Ever since then Nambitha has been slaying any kind of character put before her.
Her hard work has also paid off in ways no words can comprehend. In 2020 alone, Nambitha was a recipient of the 6th annual international women of wonder awards. She was also a part of Beyonce’s Black Is King, has bagged a series of roles and awards after that.
The multi-award winning actress has secured a groundbreaking new role internationally. Nambitha has been cast as Moya in Tatort, German-language television’s longest-running crime drama. The part also saw her master Swiss German, rehearsing alongside her Tatort co-stars before filming began at the end of September 2025.
Tatort: Könige Der Nacht, will air in Switzerland, Germany and Austria on Sunday, May 3.
