The multi-talented entertainer and entrepreneur has just been announced as a cast member in Emzini. This is a new telenovela which will start airing on e.tv this coming April. Emzini, which is set in Alexandra, steps into the complex intersection of family loyalty, ambition, and the hidden cost of success. Set against the backdrop of a thriving township lifestyle economy, the series explores what happens when the pursuit of legacy comes at the expense of truth.
At the centre of the story is Emzini, a well-known and highly profitable lounge that represents more than just business success. It is a symbol of status, influence, and generational ambition. By the look of things, Khabonina plays the family matriarch, who will do anything to protect the family legacy. She stars alongside Muzi Mthabela, who plays her husband and Wiseman Mncube as their elderly son. Other cast members include Dumisani Mbebe, Manqoba Khumalo and Lungelo Tyson Mathonsi.
Emzini will premier Monday, 13 April 2026 at 21:00 replacing Smoke & Mirrors.
