Young Professional-in-Training Opportunity at Transnet Rail Infrastructure Manager (TRIM) Johannesburg

Transnet Rail Infrastructure Manager (TRIM) is inviting applications from unemployed South African graduates aged 18 to 35 for its Young Professional-in-Training programme in Johannesburg. This two-year graduate development initiative offers structured on-the-job training combined with institutionalised knowledge to help candidates gain practical work experience and increase their employability. The programme is mentored and assessed every six months to ensure professional growth and alignment with TRIM’s objectives.

Programme Overview
The TRIM Young Professional-in-Training programme is designed for graduates from Department of Higher Education & Training registered institutions, including universities and universities of technology. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree or BTech qualification with a minimum NQF Level 6 and should have no prior work experience in their respective fields. Successful applicants will rotate through various departments within TRIM, gaining exposure to different functional areas of rail infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities and Outputs

  • Participate in a two-year structured graduate development programme.
  • Apply academic knowledge in practical work environments under mentorship.
  • Engage in six-monthly assessments to track progress and development.
  • Build skills in logistics, supply chain, administration, and business processes.
  • Contribute to projects and initiatives across multiple TRIM departments.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related fields.
  • No prior work experience is necessary.
  • Successful applicants will complete a recruitment process to determine departmental placement within TRIM.
