Lekau Sehoana Explains the R100 Million Deal He Once Signed With Cassper Nyovest

Lekau Sehoana Explains the R100 Million Deal He Once Signed With Cassper Nyovest. Some people believe in not mixing business with pleasure, whereas others feel comfortable with doing business with familiar faces. A few years back, Lekau Sehoana and Cassper Nyovest took their friendship to the next level when they got in business together.

Back in 2021, Cassper signed a R100 million deal with DRIP Footwear founder Lekau. Of course it is public knowledge that DRIP is longer in operation. The High Court in Johannesburg issued a liquidation order after an application by Wideopen Platform, a company specializing in large-scale advertising, claimed that DRIP had failed to settle a R20 million bill for advertising services. The financial strain on the footwear brand has become a high-profile case, marking a significant moment in the rise and challenges of a once-celebrated local brand.

Lekau has since returned to shoe business with another sneaker brand. In late 2025, the entrepreneur launched KITE, which has been received well by sneaker heads. Lekau comes into this new venture with all the experience, lessons and maturity.

Although Lekau has on, one social media user took hi back to the tie his company signed a R100 million deal with Family tree. The person was somewhat questioning the legitimacy of the deal. Well, Lekau was gracious enough to explain what the deal was about, and what has been accomplished.

DRIP has sold 850 000 pairs of shoes over 5 years. The deal was we sell 100 000 pairs of ROF sneakers under our deal over 5 Years. Which is R100 Million. The parent company (drip footwear) ran into trouble and we got liquidated thus we never reached the 100k shoes,” Lekau explained.
