The Driver Assistant plays a key role in supporting the delivery team by assisting with loading, unloading, and ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. Purpose of the Role

The Driver Assistant ensures smooth and efficient delivery operations by assisting drivers, maintaining vehicle condition, and supporting accurate product handling. You will contribute to customer satisfaction and help ensure that delivery schedules are met consistently.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Support

• Report on time and prepare for your shift to maintain delivery schedule deadlines
• Assist with loading deliveries from the warehouse to the vehicle efficiently
• Ensure deliveries are packed accurately and safely to prevent damage
• Carry your tablet and all completed paperwork for each delivery
• Perform deliveries and collections according to schedules or instructions from the Distribution Supervisor/Manager
• Deliver orders to customers correctly, on time, and per schedule

Customer Interaction

• Interact professionally with customers to encourage repeat business
• Pick up and record current or defective wine as instructed on upliftment paperwork

Vehicle Maintenance and Safety

• Clean the interior of the vehicle and ensure it remains in excellent condition daily
• Report any accidents or incidents immediately to the Driver Supervisor/Manager
• Follow all safety procedures and standard operating protocols

Professional Presentation

• Adhere to the company dress code and ensure uniforms are worn correctly
• Maintain a well-presented appearance at all times

Qualifications and Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate
• Code 10 or 14 driver’s license is beneficial
• Strong reliability and punctuality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a delivery team
• Professional communication and customer service skills
