Minimum Requirements

You must meet the following requirements to qualify:
Grade 12 or Matric certificate
Basic Pharmacist Assistance qualification
Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council
Experience working on Unisolv
Computer literacy in MS Office
Strong numerical skills
Good command of English and a second language
Willingness and ability to work retail hours

Advantageous Skills and Experience

These will strengthen your application:
Knowledge of retail or FMCG operations
A third additional language
Experience with SAP and E-Scripting
Knowledge of drug, family planning and complementary medicine

Key Duties and Responsibilities

This role requires accuracy, accountability and strong customer focus.

Main responsibilities include:
Assisting with the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines
Supporting compounding and preparation of non sterile medicines
Assisting in manufacturing non sterile medicines under pharmacist supervision
Re packaging medicines according to approved procedures
Managing stock distribution and control from Schedule 1 to Schedule 5
Assisting with medicine ordering up to Schedule 6
Preparing and capturing prescriptions accurately
Interpreting scripts within SAPC legal requirements
Verifying patient and prescription details on the system
Picking, packing, labelling and checking medication correctly
Advising patients on correct medicine usage
Managing medical aid procedures and claims
Correcting rejected medical aid scripts
Handling chronic, HIV and oncology authorisations
Maintaining and merging customer profiles
Monitoring and reporting low or out of stock items
Receiving and merchandising stock using FEFO principles
Participating in bi annual stock takes
Maintaining strict stock, cash and asset control
