Allocator Opportunity at Truworths Distribution Department Cape Town

Truworths is recruiting for a permanent Allocator position within its Distribution Department at Head Office in Cape Town, Western Cape. This on-site role plays a critical part in how merchandise moves from the Truworths Distribution Centre to stores across South Africa and the wider continent. The closing date for applications is 12 January 2026.

The Allocator role sits at the centre of communication between the Distribution Centre and the Merchandise teams. You are responsible for creating clear and accurate allocation instructions that determine how stock is distributed to stores. Your work directly impacts product availability, sales performance, and customer satisfaction.

This position is admin focused but highly influential. Allocators support the full merchandising function by ensuring the right stock reaches the right stores at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

1. Distribute stock from the Distribution Centre to stores according to allocation plans.
2. Manage a sample portfolio and ensure accuracy at all times.
3. Add duty codes to individual styles as required.
4. Compile weekly reports and respond to feedback from merchandise teams.
5. Liaise with Distribution Centre staff to resolve allocation and stock queries.
6. Manage interbranch samples.
7. Act as back-up support for other areas within the department when required.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Matric with strong numerical and analytical ability.
2. Understanding of MFP, RMS Viewer, size curves, JDA, and BDM systems.
3. Strong administration skills.
4. Experience in a retail or logistics environment is advantageous.

Technical Competencies

1. Strong numerical ability is essential.
2. Intermediate Excel skills are advantageous.
