Job Overview
The Blockman will be responsible for operating all butchery equipment, including the bandsaw, while maintaining high safety and hygiene standards. The role involves cutting, preparing, and presenting meat according to company procedures and customer expectations.

You will report any defective equipment to the Butchery Manager and help ensure the cold chain is always maintained. The position requires accuracy, teamwork, and commitment to quality service.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate all butchery machinery and tools safely and efficiently.
• Control and merchandise stock according to company standards.
• Cut, debone, and prepare various meat carcasses.
• Produce mince, sausage, and boerewors.
• Maintain hygiene standards in all work areas and equipment.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting meat deliveries.
• Help train new staff on product preparation and handling.
• Handle customer requests in a courteous and professional manner.
• Prevent wastage and minimize shrinkage.

Job Requirements

• Proven ability to cut and produce meat products like chops and roasts.
• Strong communication skills and customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work in a cold environment.
• Physically capable of lifting carcasses and heavy containers.
