Thuli Phongolo Takes Us Through Her Journey In the Entertainment Industry and How She Has Evolved. Many got to know her when she played Namhla Diale in Generations: The Legacy. In actual fact, Thuli Phongolo was already in the game before this particular gig.

Thuli began her acting career playing Zama on the series Tshisa. The talented actress and musician has also played lead on another hit series Makoti. Other major shows Thuli has been in include Mzansi Magic’s The Republic and Rockville. She was also part of the star-studded cast on The Wife series, which aired on Showmax.

“I stepped into the entertainment industry at fifteen full of passion, a hunger to learn and a willingness to grow. From Tshisa to Thula, presenting on Craz-e to landing a role on the iconic Generations… progressively joining Makoti, The Republic, Rockville and The Wife. Each project has shaped my craft and deepened my respect for storytelling,” Thuli stated.

In 2017, Thuli expanded her horizon by becoming a DJ. She shares that, the decision changed her life. It has sustained her creatively and professionally. It also reaffirmed her belief that reinvention is a strength, not a risk especially through all the public trials and tribulations. Along the way, Thuli got to work with respected brands through commercials, endorsements and partnerships that align with her values.

I hold a BA in Strategic Brand Management from UJ and that knowledge has empowered me to grow a business that explores entertainment, media and entrepreneurship with intention. Recently, I founded AVANA Records, a home for my music journey and the future voices I hope to champion. My first EP, AVANA, is a celebration of this new chapter,” she announced.
