New Bride Claire Mawisa Joins BBC Africa. This is without a doubt Claire Mawisa‘s season. Just a couple of days back, the seasoned broadcaster, voice-over artist and entrepreneur shared that she got married. Her beautiful beach wedding is currently making waves, as she shares epic content after another.
Now Claire is basking on some more great news. She has just joined BBC’s Africa Eye. The documentary-style investigative programme focuses on social, cultural and political issues across the continent. Claire takes her new chapter as a responsibility she is honored to have.
Already Claire has made her debut on the show, covering a story about psychedelics in South Africa. The Shadow Healers Documentary focuses on the use of illegal substances by healers in Cape Town.
Claire has been doing amazing in the world of broadcasting. After a successful modelling career, she hosted various television shows across several channels and developed an extensive radio career both on and off the microphone. Claire rendered her services at stations such as YFM, Metro FM, Radio 2000, Kaya FM, and Classic FM. Over a decade ago, she joined the Carte Blanche team. Carte Blanche is South Africa’s longest running investigative journalism programme.
In 2020, Claire, joined Ibis’s Board of Directors as a member at large. The mission of Ibis, is to drive change through bold, rigorous research and principled partnerships that advance sexual and reproductive autonomy, choices, and health worldwide. In May 2020, Claire attended her first Ibis Board meeting.
