Role Overview

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following entry criteria:

• Matric or Senior Certificate with at least 50% in Pure Mathematics.
• Life Sciences or Physical Sciences with an overall average of 50% or higher.
• Completion of a proficiency test that qualifies them for registration with the SAPC.

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Dispensary Support role will involve:

• Assisting with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines.
• Supporting compounding and preparation of non-sterile medicines.
• Unpacking, merchandising, and cleaning dispensary and OTC shelves.
• Interpreting prescriptions accurately and ensuring legal compliance.
• Picking, packing, labeling, and checking medication with awareness of dosages and interactions.
• Managing stock levels, organization, and expiry monitoring.
• Following up with patients on script tracking reports and call center queries.
• Assisting with scheme authorization for chronic, HIV, AIDS, and oncology medication.
• Receiving and processing dispensary stock according to company procedures.
• Providing basic health information to patients.

Competencies

Advantageous skills include prior retail or FMCG experience, knowledge of complementary medicine, and familiarity with systems such as Unisolv, SAP, and E-Scripting.
