Clarity on Tebogo G Mashego’s Arrest Incident. Over the past couple of days, Katlego G Mashego has been at the top of social media trends. It all started after the Amapiano artist shared a video of himself stranded in Nigeria and desperately asking for help to come home.

Mashego acclaimed to fame, when he became part of the artists behind the 2024 anthem Biri Marung. At just a tender age, his name was mentioned amongst well established stars like DJ Maphorisa and Kabza. Sadly, it seems like he is experiencing all the problems that usually comes with fame.

After the help of DJ Kari, Mashego returned to SA on Sept 22, and started sharing his ordeal in viral social media videos. Among other shocking revelations, he accused Amapiano heavyweights of stealing his royalties, demanding R23-million from Maphorisa and Kabza. Mashego also shared hectic secrets that he got from another artist 2woshort about some Amapiano artists. He also dropped bombshells about witchcraft and money rituals. In most of the lives that Mashego did, it appeared as of he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Yesterday a video of him being shoved in a police van, made waves on social media. Immediately, people assumed that he was arrested, possibly for defamation of character.

The Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Department has released a statement stating that Mashego has not been arrested. He apparently displayed an abnormal behavior and allegedly acted violently, assaulting people without apparent cause. Laudium SAPS members were summoned to the scene and, in the interest of public safety, they had to forcefully remove him from the community as he was visibly resisting. It is alleged that yesterday Mashego was taken to the psychiatric ward in Kalafong Hospital.
