Trainee: Design Coordinator Opportunity in Western Cape

A career opportunity has opened in Western Cape, South Africa, for a Trainee Design Coordinator. This position is ideal for graduates or recent diploma holders in Fashion Design or related fields who are eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic fashion environment. Candidates will work closely with retail and marketing teams to ensure seamless design and sample coordination processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all components for assigned styles are accurate and available according to the in-house critical path
  • Prepare samples on time, photograph them, and have them ready for QR capsule showing with the retail team
  • Produce marketing samples and deliver them to the buyer’s assistant within deadlines
  • Follow up on and hand over BPS samples to retail teams for the Omni process
  • Process overseas samples by ironing, photographing, ticketing, and saving them on the drive for presentations
  • Keep team members informed about the status of all styles through bi-daily style reports

Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced diploma or degree in Fashion Design or relevant tertiary qualification

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to work under tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities
