As a Sushi Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing sushi according to production plans while maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. This role is key to ensuring the department operates efficiently and meets sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

Production

• Follow the production plan to support sales growth and minimize waste.
• Prepare sushi recipes accurately according to the production plan.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.

Sales and Turnover

• Assist in preparing promotional lines in coordination with the Sushi Chef.

Administration

• Support monthly stocktakes.
• Conduct daily waste scanning and reporting.

Food Safety

• Follow food safety procedures rigorously.
• Maintain hygiene standards and ensure the cold chain is intact.
• Prevent cross-contamination in the department.

Self-Management

• Exhibit Pick n Pay values consistently.
• Stay up to date with relevant legislation and industry developments.
• Take ownership of tasks and demonstrate effective self-management.
• Maintain a positive attitude and respond constructively to feedback.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Competency-based interview to assess relevant skills.
