Zamani Mbatha Takes A Moment to Appreciate Having Played Nomahlanjana ka Zwide. This is an iconic character, both in the South African history and the Shaka iLembe drama series. Zamani Mbatha was the man chosen to embody the character on Shaka iLembe, and he has done an excellent job.
Nomahlanjana was one of Zwide KaLanga’s sons. He is described as a dangerous, ambitious, and unpredictable warrior determined to prove himself to his father. Nomahlanjana saw himself as the rightful heir of the Zulu Kingdom, and did everything in his power to prove that. He was a true ticking time bomb, volatile, unpredictable, and driven by an insatiable thirst for power.
Nomahlanjana blended violence with cunning, reminiscent of his father, Zwide kaLanga. He was fiercely determined to seize his desires. He killed everyone who was on his way, to prove just how powerful he was, In the midst of it all, Nomahlanjana stepped on the toes of King Shaka Zulu. This led to his demise, as Shaka killed him, in the presence of his father.
There is no doubt that Zamani did wonderful, portraying the character. He breathed life into this role with remarkable skill, drawing on his rich background in acting that has captivated Shaka iLembe viewers. With many roles under his belt, playing Nomahlanjana remains one of his best ever. Zamani has shown appreciation to the opportunity in a heartfelt Instagram post. He thanked the character itself, as well as Bomb Production for the gig.
