Zoe Modiga Wishes to Play This Iconic Musician In A Biopic

Zoe Modiga Wishes to Play This Iconic Musician In A Biopic. One thing about most South African music, it’s timeless. We are still jamming to songs that were released decades ago. Also, some of our current top artists sample songs from way back, adding a touch of modern sound to accommodate the youth.
History ZAR, an X page dedicated at remembering past prominent personalities, continue to show us how South Africa has always been ahead in so many aspects. The page recently shared a video of Letta Mbulu, showing off her impressive vocal skills. The veteran musician was performing Nongqongqo in the 1973 film A Warm December starring and directed by Sidney Poitier. Those who have watched the video so far, can’t stop singing the praises of Mam’ Letta.
One of those impressed by the video is Zoe Modiga. The talented award-winning singer, songwriter and performer wishes to play Mam’ Letta, should there be a biopic. Zoe believes that she can ace the character, and so does many of her fans and follower.
“Yeses I would play her like no one’s business 😩,” Zoe reacted to the video clip.
Zoe is an icon in her own right. She released her debut album, “Yellow: The Novel” and her sophomore album, “Inganekwane,” under her label Yelloëwax. She has been awarded with the Glamour Woman of the Year: Musician Game Changer Award 2023, Standard Bank Young Artist Award: Music 2023, South African Music Award for Best Engineered Album 2020, Dopest Album Cover of 2020 by African Design League, Carol Bouwer Mbokodo Award for Music 2018, Mzantsi Jazz Awards for Best Jazz Contemporary Album Newcomer in Jazz and Best Jazz Song (2018), SAMRO Overseas Scholarship Competition (2015).
Zoe has also collaborated with some of the worlds finest musicians. They include Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Johnny Clegg, Abigail Kubeka, Thandiswa Mazwai, Simphiwe Dana, Madala Kunene, Louis Maholo, Tshepo Tshola, Wynton Marsali, and TROMPIES.
