Shooting This Scene Was Intensely Demanding and Challenging,” Wiseman Mncube on Shaka iLembe. On every show he is cast in, Wiseman Mncube delivers a masterclass performance. He has played almost every role one can think of, from being a villain, hero, family man to being a well respected businessman.
Currently the multi-award winning actor and producer plays King Zwide on Shaka iLembe. The hit series retells the story of King Shaka of the Zulu Kingdom, and his quest to fight for his throne. The series has also highlights the mentorship and father-and-son bond between King Dingiswayo, (born as Godongwana) and King Shaka. Dingiswayo is played by Thembinkosi Mthembu, whereas Shaka is played by Lemogang Tsipa. In the historical series, King Dingiswayo was brutally killed by the Ndwandwe clan, led by King Zwide (played by Wiseman Mncube). This was after he was lured into their kingdom by Ntombazi (played by Khabonina Qhubeka) using witchcraft.
Taking us through the creating of the scene, Wiseman says it’s one of his favorites. He also stated that shooting it was intensely demanding and challenging to him. Nonetheless, he delivered a stellar performance, captivating viewers.
