Inside Gogo Skhotheni’s Baptism

Inside Gogo Skhotheni’s Baptism. She came into the spotlight as a traditional healer and a socialite. Tumi Motsoeneng, better known as Gogo Skhotheni, recently shocked many when she announced her resignation from the practice of ubungoma.
The podcaster, DJ, and reality television star is now a Christian. She recently dedicated herself to the religion publicly via baptism. Tumi shared that through her baptism, she has died to her old self and risen with Christ.
“Today marks the most sacred turning point of my life, and it’s no coincidence that it happens on my birthday—05/05/25. I once walked a path deeply rooted in ancestral calling as a sangoma, seeking truth and healing the only way I knew. But in the quiet cries of my soul, Jesus found me. He called me out of the shadows and into His marvellous light. I have laid down the bones, the beads, and the burdens—and in return, I have received grace, peace, and eternal life. Through baptism, I have died to my old self and risen with Christ. This is not just a new chapter—it is a whole new life. I am no longer who I was. On the very day I was born into this world, I have now been born again in Spirit. Reborn, redeemed, and restored by the blood of Jesus. To Him be all the glory,” Tumi said.
Among those who attended her baptism, which coincided with her birthday was actor and TV personality, Thabiso Mokhethi. The two are great friends, and come a long way. Thabiso was also once a sangoma, and now he is into Christianity.
