Singer Rethabile Khumalo Mourns Another Family Member. The past couple of months haven’t been easy on her. Back in June 2024, Rethabile Khumalo was fighting for her life in hospital, after one of her friends allegedly poisoned her. Her late mother Winnie Khumalo took to Instagram, to share the devastating news. She shared that Rethabile has been in hospital for almost a week, and has already had three operations.
Just six months after that, Rethabile lost her mother Winnie. The veteran musician and actress died on the first week of January 2015, at her home after a short illness. She was only 51 years of age. This was such devastating news for Rethabile, more so since she was very close with her mother. The two did almost everything together, including music together. Winnie was always there for her daughter, giving her the necessary support to advance in the industry.
As Rethabile is still trying to get into terms of losing her mother, she has been hit by yet another blow. The award winning musician, has just shared that she lost a cousin. Rethabile posted a short clip of herself and the deceased, giving it a touching caption. On the caption, Rethabile asked for her cousin to greet Winnie, and also expressed that she will always love him. She has however not revealed the cause of her cousin’s death.
