The Late Connie Chiume’s Family Appreciates Netflix SA for Honoring Her. She may be gone, but definitely not forgotten. Connie Chiume continues to be an integral part of the local acting scene, as many new productions have her in their cast.
The latest show that the legendary actress has been cast in is Meet the Khumalos. The Netflix comedy drama is about two moms, who were once best friends and are now arch-enemies. They start a neighborhood war against each other when they find out their kids are head-over-heels in love. Now the two have to work together to separate their children. Mam’ Connie ha been cast on the show alongside the likes of Amanda Borotho, Khanyi Mbau, Jesse Suntele and Nandi Khubone.
Over the weekend, local stars gathered together for the Meet the Khumalos premier. Mam Connie was honoured at the prestigious event, where her family was also in attendance. The family thanked Netflix for the honor, as well as everyone who was in attendance.
“We would like to thank our @netflixsa family for honoring our mother at the “Meet the Khumalos” premier yesterday. Thank you to the production company and everyone who was present to share that special moment with us🤍,” her family said in gratitude.
“Celebrated my moms final work yesterday with my siblings at the “Meet the Khumalos” premier in Durban. Thank you to everyone who made it possible for us to be there, the production, kwa @netflixsa we thank you so so much ❤️❤️,” her daughter Nothando Naledi Mabuza said.
